VISX Advanced CustomVue
VISX Advanced CustomVue is an individualised laser vision correction procedure that is WaveScan WaveFront® driven. It enables Doctor Delaney to measure and correct imperfections that are unique to each individual's vision. Many of these imperfections could not have been measured before with standard measurements used for glasses and contact lenses.
VISX WaveScan WaveFront
Wavefront - guided LASIK
VISX
WaveScan® is a device from VISX that
uses wavefront technology to measure imperfections in an individual's vision
with the greatest precision possible. Wavefront technology was originally
developed for use in high-powered telescopes to reduce distortions when
viewing distant objects in space. This technology has now been applied to
laser vision correction (LASIK). WaveScan technology identifies and measures
imperfections in an individual's vision 25 times more precisely than standard
methods used for glass or contact lenses. Doctor Delaney will use this information
to treat individuals with the LASIK procedure.
Iris Registration
Iris Registration is the first fully automated method of aligning and registering
WaveFront corrections for Advanced CustomVue treatments. This technique matches a
map of the iris taken by the WaveScan®
System with the iris at the time of treatment to align the laser beam and
to correct for cyclotortional
movement of the eye.
VISX WavePrint Map
The
WavePrint map is a visual representation of how your optical system processes
light. Produced by the VISX WaveScan device, this map provides a more precise
and detailed analysis of your vision and is used by Dr Delaney to ensure
optimal laser vision correction results. Like a fingerprint, the WavePrint
Map is completely unique to each individual.
About
the VISX Star S4 excimer laser
- Variable Spot Scanning
- Exclusive VISX laser technology that allows for larger treatment area. It provides variable size and shape beams with scanning capabilities. It offers more flexibility in personalising refractive treatments for myopic, astigmatic, and hyperopic eyes. Exclusive SmartBeam technology adjusts beam size according to treatment, minimising corneal tissue removal.
ActiveTrak™ 3D Active Eye Tracking
The
only laser systems that can capture all three dimensions of eye movements.
It actively moves that laser beam to compensate for eye movement for greater
precision and enhanced safety.- Comfort - No Dilation Required
- Unlike other systems, with ActiveTrak the doctor does not have to dilate your pupils. This means an even quicker recovery time.
